How it all started
Bayaan Association is a non-profit organisation which focus mainly to promote and nurture the correct Islamic teachings based on the Qur’an & Authentic Sunnah as understood by the Salaf-us-Saalih (Righteous Predecessors) to the Muslim community.
In 2005, a group of students felt the need to start an organisation that encourages the Muslim community to adhere to the correct understanding of Islam based on the Qur’an & Authentic Sunnah as understood by the Salaf-us-Saalih (Righteous Predecessors).
After consulting with asatizahs whom they studied with, an application was made to the Registry of Societies on 26th November 2012 and by the grace of Allah, Bayaan Association was successfully registered on 5th August 2013.
The Name Bayaan
The name “Bayaan” was taken from the Qur’an, Chapter Ar-Rahman, Verse 4.
Ibn Al-Kathir reported that Al-Hasan said that, “Bayaan” means “Eloquent speech”.
It refers to Allah the All-Mighty, teaching the Qur’an to his servants by making it easy for them to speak and pronounce letters with the various parts of the mouth, such as the alveolar bridge, the tongue and the lips which coincides with our mission statement.
